Akillas Karazisis studied Political Science at the University of Heidelberg. Since 1985, he has worked as an actor in both Germany and Greece.
He has collaborated with numerous theatres, including Städtische Bühne Heidelberg, Theater an der Winkelwiese Zürich, Theater Mahagoni, Theaterhaus Jena, Stadttheater Magdeburg, La MaMa Theater of New York, the National Theatre of Northern Greece (NTNG), the National Theatre of Greece, Theatre of the South (Theatro tou Notou), Diplous Eros Theatre Company, the Municipal and Regional Theatre (DI.PE.TH.E.) of Lamia, Michani Theatre Company, and Estia Theatre Organization.
Throughout his career, he has worked with acclaimed directors including Yannis Houvardas, Lefteris Vogiatzis, Stamatis Papavasileiou, Rula Pateraki, Michail Marmarinos, Nikos Moschopoulos, Dimitris Mavrommatis, Giorgos Douvetzis, Pavlidis, Tzianos, Arditi, Hirche, Henkel, Goebbels, von Henning, Manninger, and Kerber, performing in productions from both the classical and contemporary repertoire.
Since 2002, he has been teaching acting at the Theatre of Changes, Ergastiri Drama School, and the Drama School of the National Theatre of Greece.
Since 2006, he has also been writing and directing for the stage, with productions presented at venues including Amore Theatre, the Athens Festival, and the National Theatre of Greece.
In addition to his theatre work, he has been active in television and radio.
